At its Annual General Meeting on Saturday 13 March 2010, the Society elected - by acclamation - Dr Sheila Cameron QC to be its new President. She succeeds the late Bishop Eric Kemp, who sadly died earlier this year.

Sheila has had a long and distinguished engagement with ecclesiastical and canon law, as Chancellor of the dioceses of Chelmsford and London for well over thirty years, Vicar-General for the Archbishop of Canterbury for twenty-five years, and Dean of the Arches and Auditor of the Chancery Court of York for nearly ten years.

The Chairman, the Right Reverend Christopher Hill, said of her that

"it is a great joy to have Sheila as our new President.  She will bring a characteristic blend of sound legal judgment and pastoral insight to the issues we are concerned with in our Society".
